MCI Sustainability Awards
Launched in 2008, the MCI Sustainability Awards celebrate our talents’ commitment to sustainable business and reward offices that effectively raise awareness and implement sustainability into the day-to-day practices of MCI and our clients.
A team of judges review applications from our offices around the world and evaluate the submissions under the categories of governance, office operations, event operations, sales, community action and X factor innovation. In 2013, the judges selected two award winners:
2013 Leadership in Sustainability Award: MCI Brussels
MCI Brussels has made consistent improvements across each area of the sustainability scorecard and this year made MCI history by becoming the first office to win the Leadership in Sustainability Award for a second time. The judges were particularly impressed by the team’s talent wellbeing programme, with initiatives ranging from the innovative ‘languages@lunch’ to the impressive health and nutrition ‘change challenge’ to the introduction of a very practical new team member – the shared office bike! The Brussels team also excelled in community actions, implementing a unique series of collaborative partnerships which helped disadvantaged children and adults, from the homeless to vulnerable asylum seekers and trafficked women.

2013 Innovation in Sustainability Award: MCI Dubai
Determined to lead in a region with significant environmental and societal challenges, MCI Dubai was recognised for its commitment to collaborative innovation. Earning an overall third place in the rankings, the Dubai team showed how the MCI spirit can inspire in areas where sustainability is not a given, and how MCI can make a measureable difference and leave a real legacy for local communities and clients. Operational enhancements included a fully integrated and comprehensive ‘Reuse – Reduce – Recycle’ programme, while the office’s ‘X Factor Innovation’ initiative raised funds to support numerous community projects, from helping build schools in Nepal to supporting female immigrant groups in Dubai.
